"Snap In Dentures Give Me That Confidence That I Was Looking For!"
A Staged Option For A Smooth Transition
The SmileEvolution™ Progressive Implant Solution is a staged treatment option that allows patients to transition from traditional dentures to Snap-On Implant Dentures or to our SmileRevolution™ 1-Day Implant Solution. This treatment option gives patients the flexibility to start and end treatment based on the desired functionality of their teeth. More importantly, it allows patients to get healthy and achieve an amazing smile without making a commitment they may not be ready for…financially or regarding their final treatment decision. For patients with pre-existing dental or medical conditions that require a more conservative approach to treatment, the SmileEvolution™ Progressive Implant Solution is often used to ensure a safer surgery for the patient and a more successful dental implant outcome.

Progression To The SmileRevolution™ 1-Day Implant Solution
Patients that select the SmileRevolution™ 1-Day Implant Solution as their final treatment outcome can expect a total of two surgical appointments. The first surgical appointment entails removal of any remaining teeth and improving the health of the gum tissue and bone to provide for the most optimal conditions for dental implants. At the end of the appointment, the patient leaves with traditional dentures that give the patient a great smile while they heal. The healing phase is about 3 months. After the first healing phase, the second surgical appointment is that of the SmileRevolution™ 1-Day Implant Solution. The patient’s traditional dentures are replaced utilizing a minimum of 4 dental implants per jaw and a set of composite resin teeth, during a second healing phase of about 4 to 6 months. After the healing phase, the new ceramic teeth, designed with the patient’s input, are secured to the dental implants. The result is a beautiful new smile and new teeth that are approximately 95% as efficient as natural teeth. There are some variations of the SmileRevolution™ 1-Day Implant Solution that allow for different materials to be used for the final new teeth, each of which have different advantages and price points. Patients that would like to transition to their final new teeth in one day, have that potential option as well.
Progression to Snap-On Implant Dentures
Patients that select Snap-On Implant Dentures as their final treatment outcome can expect a total of two to three surgical appointments depending on their medical and dental health. The first surgical appointment entails removal of any remaining teeth and improving the health of the gum tissue and bone to provide for the most optimal conditions for dental implants. At the end of the appointment, the patient leaves with traditional dentures that gives the patient a great smile while they heal. The healing phase is about 3 months before the second surgical appointment. The second surgical appointment is placement of the dental implants. The upper jaw typically has 3 to 4 implants placed, while the lower jaw typically has 2 to 4 implants placed. The number of implants placed is dependent on the patient’s desired retention level of the denture, chewing efficiency, chewing power and budget. Snap-On Implant Dentures are a more efficient and streamlined version of traditional dentures, that a patient “snaps on” to dental implants to secure them into position. Snap-On Implant Dentures are about 60% of the efficiency of natural teeth.
Snap-On Implant Dentures are made of the same acrylic and composite resin teeth as traditional dentures. However, they are reinforced with a framework that allows them to be smaller and more durable than traditional dentures. The upper Snap-On Implant Denture is substantially smaller than a traditional denture, in that the roof of the mouth is not covered, which has the added benefit of increasing the taste of food. The snap system works like a traditional snap with a fitting on top of the implant and a fitting in the denture that interlock. The strength of the snap can be adjusted based on the patient’s preference. The patient can “snap on” and “snap off” the dentures as needed. Like traditional dentures, they are not meant to be worn overnight. They are removed while a patient sleeps.
Traditional dentures are the most basic option for the complete replacement of a patient’s natural teeth. The base of a denture is made of acrylic and the teeth are typically made of a composite resin. Porcelain teeth are rarely used. Acrylic is a hard material, but it is also brittle, meaning it can break easily if dropped from any height. Dentures often feel “too big” to patients because the acrylic needs thickness for strength, and rather than emerging from the gums as natural teeth do, dentures sit on top of the gums. The suction the upper denture needs for stability, requires that the roof of the mouth be covered, which adds to the “too big” feeling. Covering the roof of the mouth has the additional consequence of decreasing the taste of food. Dentures are at best 30% the functionality of natural teeth. The diminished functionality of dentures is due in large part to the lack of retention of the lower denture. The upper denture is relatively stable from suction. The lower denture has no suction. It is kept in place based on two factors. The first is the 3-dimensional shape of the jawbone. The second is the ability of the patient to learn to use their lips, cheeks and tongue to center the denture over the jawbone.
